Helping Grandma in the Kitchen

OMG!! Beckett certainly enjoyed helping me make butter cream frosting. I started out with a hand mixer. He was able to test each ingredient as they were added. Upon remembering my new heavy duty upright mixer that's rarely used, I quickly switched over. Beckett loved the noise of the motor. He found the lever and cranked it to high speed sending powdered sugar everywhere. Of course his favorite part was clean up duty. He licked the beaters from both mixers while I scrubbed the backsplash and walls. As he was putting the "Yet to be Washed" beaters back in the drawer from which they came, he discovered my onion cutting goggles and my rolling pin. He managed to roll sticky icing down into the cracks of the hardwood floor and deep into my dark purple kitchen rugs. Needless to say - he's now napping, rugs are in the washing machine, and I'm mopping the floor. Can't wait for us to start the cupcakes tomorrow. I might start out by putting up a tarp and putting on our rain gear! Just so you know, I loved every minute of it.
