This is one photo that no one wishes to frame and display, but it certainly exhibits an event we won't easily forget. Beckett's temperature spiked high enough that his doctor wanted Brandi to bring him to Children's Hospital. You guessed it, Charlie and I went along, and Brett and his brother, Nate, met us there. Several nurses tried to draw blood and set up an IV with no luck. After 45 minutes and way too many needle jabs, they finally called in a different nurse that was able to accomplish the task immediately. There were plenty of tears all around, but Beckett did learn that he was quite fond of sugar water. Luckily, the blood work indicated that Beckett had the same virus his mom and dad had been battling for over a week. Looking back at this photo ever so often will remind us of how grateful we should be that our Beckett is strong and healthy.
